Surgència dels Raiers

Permanent spring with a 76-metre passage in the torrent de Llabró, Conca de Dalt, located by GE Badalona in 1985.

Conca de Dalt • Pallars Jussà 76m

Permanent spring with a 76-metre passage in the torrent de Llabró, Conca de Dalt, located by GE Badalona in 1985.

Characteristics

Location

On the N-260 road between Pobla de Segur and Gerri de la Sal, between kilometres 302 and 301, before entering the tunnel, we will turn right onto the old road, until we reach the point where the river forms a sharp bend where there is access to go down to the river, since it is used as a kayak landing point. You must cross the river and on the other side we find the torrent de Llabró. (Formerly there was a cable with a wagonette that held two people, and if you had the right key, you could cross to the other side, but these are data from 1990, we do not know the current state of this cable).

Another access could be from Hortoneda, although the route and the elevation gain would be greater, but there is no inconvenience of crossing the Noguera Pallaresa river.

Description

Morphology

The cavity opens in limestone and the walls reach 18-20 metres in height, remaining like a gorge with a roof in the central part, the passage is 76 metres.

Hydrology

It is a permanent spring, with the logical variations in water flow in rainy periods. The floor is formed by a bed of gravel through which impassable springs of significant flow emerge, in at least two verified places.

Progression

We will go up the torrent for approximately one hour, on a route of about 1500 metres, until reaching the spring.

History

Located by GE Badalona in 1985.

As with Josep Lluís Gàzquez (GELL), who was in charge of preparing the speleology section in the book “la Serra del Boumort i muntanyes veïnes” by Manuel Cortès i Ribelles, and of which he already makes mention, we also suspect that this cavity is none other than the one cited by J. Senent and JM. Victoria in 1965 as Font Mentidora del Torrent de Llabró.
