Description

Morphology

It is a pit with walls that are very smooth due to water erosion.

Hydrology

We are faced with a curious pit of reverse functioning, hydrologically speaking. When the surgència dels Raiers is not able to evacuate the water, it rises in level and comes out through the mouth of this pit, making it act like an authentic “trop-plein” with considerable force, since from the mouth of the cavity a ravine begins that goes to fall again into the springs below. The water's course is upward in a first moment of rising and exit into the ravine, and then the level drops again and exits through the chaos of blocks down to the springs below.

Other details

Following the various visits carried out by the GEB, it is deduced that the water has reached as far as marked on the survey, since the change in morphology is evident due to the dragging of stones and mud that has occurred between visits.

History

Discovered by GE Badalona in 1985.
