A 24-metre-long cave at Cabrafiga (Pratdip), with an entrance of 2.12X1.36 metres that gives access to a sloping chamber of about 11X8 metres.

Characteristics

Location

On the T-310 road, shortly after the junction with the T-318 road and heading towards Mont-roig del Camp, specifically at kilometre 21.775 and opposite the Golf Bonmont club, we find a track that gives access to a disused section of the old road. A few metres before reaching the asphalt area, we find a path on the right that leads to the Alino hut. 50 metres before reaching it we find a track on the right with blue marks that we will follow for 500 metres, where we will find a sign indicating the cave. We will follow the path on the right marked with blue marks for 700 metres, until we reach a junction where the cave is signposted, which is about 8 metres to the left of the path.

Description

Morphology

An entrance of 2.12X1.36 metres gives access to a sloping chamber of about 11X8 metres. On its W side, a lower level begins below one side of the chamber, of short length and full of large blocks.

Other details

The cave has a length of 24 metres. In the chamber we find a dry-stone wall to preserve the most sheltered area of the cavity.

History

Despite not being documented in any catalogue, it does appear on the maps of the Piolet publishing house. It seems that it has been known and used since time immemorial by the people who farmed this area of the mountain, since the cave is located among numerous terraces made with dry-stone walls.
