A 23-metre-long cave in the Serrat de la Muga (Gisclareny), located and explored in 1992 by the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat.

Location

The cave is located in the Serrat de la Muga (Gisclareny). The route is long and complicated, as there are no paths that facilitate access. One option is to go as far as the Fonts del Bastareny and, from that point, walk to the Cap de Sadorn. Once there, follow the trail that leads to the coll de Tancalaporta following the bed of the torrent de la Muga, from which the large mouth of the SM-3 is soon visible, also known as Bauma gran or Forat de les Ortigues. It is located on the right bank of the torrent according to the direction of travel (hydrographic left), and about 40 metres above the bed of the torrent. Approximate coordinates, not very precise.

Description

Morphology

The mouth is 5X8 metres and has a quadrangular shape. We go in without any change in dimensions for about 15 metres; at the end of these, the dimensions are reduced somewhat as one has to climb a pile of sediments deposited at its base, leaving a gallery of approximately 5X6 metres until the end of the cavity.

Hydrology

At this point we find a small ascending conduit, which probably provides temporary water inputs, becoming impenetrable in its final part.

Located and explored in 1992 by the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat.
