Characteristics

Location

The route is long and complicated, as there are no paths to facilitate access. You must go to the Cap de Sadorn; from there we head to the bed of the torrent de la Muga and go up it in the direction of the headwaters that come from Puig Terrers. Follow the semi-horizontal bed of the torrent until it begins to gain gradient; then take on the right a gully perpendicular to the previous one, which with a steep gradient passes at the foot of a small cliff coming from the upper plateaus. In the middle of the gully and covered with slabs is the entrance of the cavity.

Approximate coordinates without much precision.

Description

Morphology

The entrance is 0.70 x 0.50 metres and gives access, between wedged blocks, to a semi-vertical and elongated shaft 14 metres deep. A second entrance, currently obstructed, also converges into this shaft. The base forms a small chamber of regular dimensions that, after a small step, leads us to the start of a small gallery where the cavity ends. The total depth is 17.50 metres.

History

Discovered and explored in 1965 by the Grup Espeleològic de Badalona.

In 1989 the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat, after having searched for it for two years, finally rediscovered and explored it; they attempt a dig at the bottom of the shaft, but the rains and the thaw again drag a large quantity of gravel inside.

In 1992 they remove more than 50 sacks of gravel and earth to the exterior; already sensing the possible continuation, they stop the work for lack of time and cover the entrance with slabs to prevent the water from obstructing it again.
