Walled rock shelter at the Granadella, elongated, with two distinct sectors and stones lined up forming a small wall.

Characteristics

Location

Leaving the Granadella along the C-233 road towards Bovera, just past kilometre 19.525 a path branches off to the left and descends; we follow it for 225 metres and, when it makes a pronounced bend to the right, one must head to the left towards the rock shelter, which is a few metres from the road but at a lower level, and about 75 metres to the N in a straight line, with no marked path.

Description

Morphology

Rock shelter of a rather elongated configuration: it measures 50 metres in width and 10 metres in depth, and only 2 metres in height at the entrance, since this soon diminishes. We can divide the cavity into two parts: the E side is where it reaches the greatest distance between the entrance and the back wall, and the W side of the cave is only 5 metres deep and full of blocks.

Other details

On the E side a couple of spots can be seen with stones neatly lined up forming a small wall that would serve as a screen.

History

Known since ancient times in the area.
