Cova del Vimboca

Petita cova de 21 metres de recorregut a Gisclareny.

Gisclareny • Berguedà21m9m

Small cave with a 21-metre passage in Gisclareny, with a 16-metre ascending gallery, cited by Faura i Sans in 1909 and located on 29 July 2006.

Characteristics

Location

Starting from Bagà, we take the road, later a track that goes up the Bastareny valley. We leave the vehicle in the car park there to visit the springs of the Bastareny, continuing on foot along the track. We reach a very sharp bend to the right that heads towards el Molnell or Monnell; we must follow the straight path along the track that goes up the valley. Further on, the track crosses the Monnell torrent and, just after, the path that climbs towards the coll del Vimboca (indicated on a sign) leaves to the right.

We take the path, which climbs through the forest. We leave the path leading to Oreis on the left. The path continues climbing steeply, going up the Monnell torrent. Further on, the torrent narrows and the path runs between cliffs on both sides. At a given moment we see the baumot del Vimboca, clearly visible because of its size, on the left hydrographic slope of the torrent. We continue climbing until we reach a small cave where a flow of water (spring) rises and, a few tens of metres further on, we find the entrance of the cova del Vimboca, right beside the path.
