Cova del Sac de Gemecs

Petita cova de 28 metres de recorregut a Odèn.

Odèn • Solsonès28m0

Small cave with a passage of 28 metres in Odèn, explored on 18 June 1994, used as a den by badgers and foxes.

Characteristics

Location

The cave is located in Odèn. It is reached from the hamlet of Canalda and from cal Reguer, going down along the path to a large oak grove. An abandoned path descends among the oaks down the slope in an E direction until it comes out above a rocky outcrop, from where the rasa de Canalda and the riera de Canalda can be seen at the point where they meet. Continue descending to the rasa following the path in a N direction, more marked than the previous stretch. Cross the rasa and about 5 metres up there is a good spring. Climb the slope up to the ridge, in the middle of the rasa and the riera de Canalda. From this point descend along the ridge slightly to the right in a S direction and, once at the cliff where the two streams meet, go to the left and, hidden by a holm oak, the cave is found. From the entrance the cova de la Guineu can be seen. Coordinates to be checked and without any precision.
