Location

It opens about 80 metres above the bed of the clot del Grau, on its left slope, opposite its confluence with the torrent d'Urdell. The torrent d'Urdell mentioned in the exploration accounts of this cavity, according to the ICC would in reality be the torrent d'Urdoll, but if we go to the ICC map at scale 1:10,000 and 1:5,000, this becomes the riu de Canalda, while the clot del Grau, at the same ICC scale becomes the Rasa de les Encies, at the point where these converge. Therefore the real situation of the cavity would be 80 metres above the bed of the Rasa de les Encies, opposite its confluence with the riu de Canalda.

Description

Morphology

A circular mouth one metre in diameter allows entry to a slightly bell-shaped shaft -5 metres deep, at the bottom of which a new vertical of -4 metres opens, also bell-shaped, its bottom being the point of maximum penetration of the pit, located at -9 metres from the exterior.

History

Explored by C. Tarrés and M. Ubach, between 16 and 20 April 1965, within the area of the operació Solsonès.
