Location

From the roundabout at the entrance to Gósol, we will follow the carrer de la Llacuna, and pass by the Gósol sewage treatment plant, we will continue along the camí de la font de Torrentsenta to the Torrentsenta recreational area, following the track in the direction of the Forat de Torrentsenta, passing the borda del Tinent and just before reaching the borda del Bepus, we must take the path on the right (W-SW) suitable only for 4x4 vehicles. Continuing on we will pass the balma del Grauet, the path continues along the right hydrographic slope of the Torrent Forcat, at the point where the gorge of the torrent ends, and before reaching the confluence of the torrent Forcat with the torrent del Coll dels Belitres, we will find some small cliffs above the path, the place where the cave mouth is located, and which cannot be seen from the path. We will have to climb about 30 metres scrambling easily up the cliff, finding the mouth in the middle of the cliff.

Description

Morphology

The mouth, 1.16x1.59 metres, gives access to a short ramp that opens onto a vertical drop of 2.16 metres; on the NW side we find a short passage almost at the height of the mouth, while on the SE side the gallery descends between ramps and a step, finally becoming impenetrable. Halfway along the gallery we find a chimney with no continuation that rises 5 metres.

History

The location of the cave was facilitated by the former mayor of Gósol, Enric Campmajor, who was aware of its existence, and who explained that it served as a hiding place during the civil war. In the cave there are still remains of tools used by those who hid there.
