Small cave at Serrat del Ballador (Cabó), with a 13-metre ascending gallery and old paintings on the walls.

Characteristics

Location

The easiest way to reach it is from Montanissell following the track that climbs to Font Freda; on reaching el Pitarell, turn right following the track that goes to the ermita de Santa Fe. A 4x4 vehicle is needed. After covering 5.4 km from the el Pitarell turn-off, you reach the Pas del Corretgedor, where in the middle of the track there is an electrified fence to keep livestock from passing. Here you leave the vehicle and descend on the left following an incipient torrent; in about a hundred metres you reach a small cliff that is descended without any problem on the left, and the cave opens at its base.

Description

Morphology

A 3x2.5 metre entrance that gives access to a wide ascending gallery 13 metres long with a height difference of +5.5 metres. Of no further interest.

History

Cavity long known to hikers. As a curiosity, inside there are paintings on the walls, a total of 19 crosses, of which 18 are Greek crosses; some are painted red, the rest are grey. It is unknown for what reason these crosses were painted, but it is assumed that, being made with paint, they must not be too old.
