Location

At the easternmost end of the Mola de Catí. Going up the Mascar track to Mola de Catí, shortly before reaching the plateau and beside the ruins of Xocolato, from the last “revolt de paella” a track branches off to the right (the Xocolato track according to the ICC) and to the right of its start there is a well-marked path that heads off level towards the NE and that must be followed for a little more than 500 metres. Here the path forks, to the left it climbs in a N direction and to the left it begins to descend towards the SE in the direction of the Mascar. The cave is located a few metres from this fork.

Description

Morphology

Through a wide entrance one enters, via a short ramp of boulders, into a single gallery about 20 metres long and about 4 metres wide in the central zone; at this point is also where the ceiling height reaches 5 metres and gradually lowers until the end point of the gallery, where through a low passage one enters a small final chamber about 4 metres long. A few metres from the entrance, on the left, there is a short gallery that opens into the main one.

History

We imagine that the cave would have been known for a long time by the people of the area and hikers. The first speleological references are provided by the Espeleo Club Tortosa, who visited it around the year 2005.
