Cova d'en Guerra

Balma sense interès espeleològic a Gavet de la Conca,

Gavet de la Conca • Pallars Jussà5m0

A shelter of no speleological interest in Gavet de la Conca, located to the SW of Toló, at the base of a cliff, beside where the barranc de Morea turns 90º.

Characteristics

Location

It is located to the SW of Toló, at the base of a cliff, beside where the barranc de Morea (riu de Conques according to the ICC) turns 90º, right in front of a waterfall where there are some shelters with large block falls, the largest being the cova d'en Guerra.

Access is via a track that leaves the road going from Comiols to Sant Salvador de Toló, which heads towards l'Hostal Roig; on reaching the point where the track crosses the riu de Conques, we will go up this river until reaching a waterfall at whose base a small weir has been built. What remains of the shelter is to the E of the waterfall.

Description

Morphology

More than a shelter, it is a long cornice that is collapsing; the base is full of large fallen rocks.

Other details

There is a net to retain animals in its day, but in some places the fallen rocks have damaged it. It is of no speleological interest.

No survey is available.

History

Known in the area since time immemorial. The first reference about the cavity was made by the GIE of the CE Gràcia in 1964.
