Small rock shelter at Tossal de Foix, in Torrelles de Foix, about 6 metres wide and 3.5 metres deep, known as “Cova A”.

Characteristics

Location

The rock shelter is located at Tossal de Foix, in Torrelles de Foix. From the sanctuary of Foix we will head towards the tossal de Foix along a path; on the left we will leave the avencó de Foix and on the right the bufadors Petits. Further on, on the right, we find a path that descends towards the valley; we will continue in the direction of the Tossal and, shortly after, on the right and well hidden by the vegetation, we find a hollow where this rock shelter is located, called “Cova A” by its anonymous discoverers. A large pine tree can serve as a reference point.

Description

Morphology

Small cave about 6 metres wide and 3.5 metres deep. The height of the ceiling descends from the initial 1.5 metres until it reaches the ground. There are some large blocks fallen from the ceiling, and the floor is a stony area.

History

No bibliographic references have been found for this small cavity; the only information comes from the existence of a graffiti that says “COVA A”.

Catalogued in March 2017 by members of the GE Badalona and the CE Castellar.
