Location

The cavity is located in the Solella de la Cavorca (Tavertet). It is reached from the Esquirol to Tavertet road (BV-5207) at km 5, on the right, continuing along a dirt track that leads to the Sobiranes farmhouse, where the cars are left. Continue along the path that leads to Sant Miquel de Sorerols and soon a small path is found on the right that descends towards the Sobiranes torrent; before reaching the streambed the cavity is found.

Description

Morphology

In a kind of large block of 25 x 18 metres these curious excavations develop that form a cave and a rock shelter. The cavorca has maximum dimensions of 10 m deep by 25 m long and 15 m high. The underground gallery that crosses the block along its 17 m length has an approximate width of 3 m by 1 m high.

History

Certainly known since remote times by the people of the area and hikers, and surely used in the past as a pigsty (baconera = pigsty). Unpublished speleologically until the visit on 19-12-2015 by members of the GE Badalona and EC de Gràcia, who carried out the cataloguing work.
