Cau Gran de la Carnisseria

We have two options to access this cavity. One is from l'Estartit: in this locality we will head to the intersection of carrer de la Pujada de la Primavera with carrer Cantabria; from this point, during the summer months vehicles are prohibited from passing. From here we must follow the road from l'Estartit to l'Escala, an asphalted section; on reaching the end of the climb there is an intersection, we will continue to the left, and soon we reach the intersection of the Torre Ponça and the road to l'Escala, we will continue to the right along the latter for 145 metres, where we will find a new intersection; we must continue to the left for 335 metres; at this point on the right an wide path branches off which we will follow for 400 metres; at the end it describes a curve to the left and joins the Ruta del Vent; we will have to continue to the right for 210 metres; at this point and about 10 metres to the left of the path is the Cau Petit de la Carnisseria; from here we will have to follow the path for 125 metres more, leaving it on the left following a faint trail for 250 metres in a NW direction, where it passes a few metres from the cavity.

The other option starts from els Cisternons: from this point we will follow the path in a S direction for 235 metres, where we will turn off to the left along the same faint trail indicated in the previous access, but covering it in the reverse direction for 225 metres in a SE direction, where it passes very close to the cavity.
