Description
Morphology
The Bòfia consists mainly of two galleries that communicate with the outside through narrow and various "chimneys". These, however, do not physically connect with each other.
Gallery A. It is accessed through a fig tree located at the mouth of the 2-3 m shaft, followed by a ramp and ground, it is a gallery with a flat floor about 2 m wide and 8 m long that ends by narrowing. Its maximum depth relative to the outside is 12 m. The floor of the gallery is artificial rubble and communicates, through the impassable shafts, with gallery B.
Gallery B. To access it you must look for a small circular mouth located about 80 m east of the Bòfia. This, which is 0.75 m in diameter, is the only access to the gallery. It is an artificial access arranged by an old "gold prospector", who takes advantage of a natural fissure. You must descend a narrow and undulating ramp 8 metres deep, arranged at the bottom with steps and delimited by a dry stone wall. At this point, you reach the mouth of a shaft 3 m deep. To overcome the drop, the "gold prospector" built a rudimentary ladder of trunks and placed a crossbeam, stamped with concrete on the ceiling, with a pulley attached. Currently the ladder is rotten and the pulley has disappeared. Once past the shaft, it goes in a W direction with a width of 2 to 4 m and a height of 4 to 5 m. There we will again see stretches of wall up to 4 m high, made of small and medium stones perfectly vertical and arranged. This gallery continues deepening in a gentle descent and after about 50 m climbs decisively through an undulating artificial ladder with steps with small rubble, until it is about 4 m below gallery A. It is about 30 m of ascent flanked partially on the left by another stretch of dry stone wall, with concrete reinforcement at some point, and on the right by an anarchic and natural scree behind which several corridors continue.

History
This cavity in the Valldan, despite not being cited until the late 70s of the last century, seems to have been known in the area since time immemorial, and was the target of odd-job "gold seekers".
Since surprises never come alone, in this case it would not be an exception.
In the middle of the gallery and in a corner of the floor of the passage, there are about three rotten crosswise pine trunks, concealed with a covering of thin slabs. On opening it, a scattering was found of sacks of cement, empty bottles of various liquors, some medicine containers, cans of all kinds, some rusty grills, fragments of candles, a repugnant carbide lamp, various tools, some leaning against the wall, in a resting position (two axes, two shovels, a pick, buckets, two sieves, pliers, a hammer, a trowel, wire, a basket, and sacks of sand...)
The "sanctuary", well camouflaged and about 20 m deep, is a room 5x4 m that gives onto two blind galleries, on the floor of which the blows of the "miner's" tools can be seen.
A number of years ago, at least more than 30, a "basket maker" presented himself every Saturday to the historian Ramon Planes, of Solsona, with one of those large market baskets, in the bottom of which he camouflaged all kinds of ceramics and other objects for sale, which according to him were the leftovers or waste of ancient gold seekers. From a day when he was asked where he got all that abundance and to show it, that they would pay well, they never heard anything from him again.
