A rock shelter on the riera de Canalda (Lladurs), on the left bank above a large wall of conglomerate rock, between Odèn and Lladurs.

Characteristics

Location

It is located on the left bank of the riera de Canalda, above a large wall of conglomerate rock, right beside the stream and below a small hillock, in the middle of the valley. It lies almost at the municipal boundary between Odèn and Lladurs, but belongs to the latter municipality.

To reach it easily, it is best to leave the vehicle at the Cap del Pla, go down by the font Ferrera, continuing along the path that passes by the ermita de Sant Agustí d'Isanta, and continue down to the house of Isanta, which is in ruins; below we will find the path that descends to the riera de Canalda, passing beside the cova de les Portes. Before reaching it, we will follow an abandoned path on the right, which will take us to the middle of the stream but higher up and without water.

We will continue upstream for about 500 metres, until we see on the right a large wall of difficult access, and above we will see the rock shelter under an overhang.

Approximate coordinates to be reviewed.

Description

Morphology

It is a rock shelter located between about 25 to 30 metres above the stream, like a watchtower hill for birds of prey. In the central part the floor is channelled and ascending, giving it this slide-like appearance.
