A very long shelter with a low ceiling in Castellterçol, beside the riera de Fontscalents, 100 m wide and with a maximum depth of 10.5 m.

Location

About two kilometres NE of Castellterçol, right by the riera de Fontscalents, right bank, a few metres upstream of the gorg de la Vinyota and about 150 m downstream of the Molí Vell.

To get there, starting from Castellterçol we will go to the Vapor industrial estate, located one kilometre to the north. From it a track begins (camí d'Esplugues) that goes up the riera de Fontscalents. We will follow it for a little more than a kilometre and just before reaching the Molí Vell we will leave the car to continue on foot along the edge of a field until we find the shelter.

Description

Morphology

A very long shelter, it is exactly 100 m wide with a maximum depth of 10.5 m. Partly overhanging a few metres above the bed of the riera de Fontscalents. The floor is very flat and dusty, keeping the same level along its entire length. Its ceiling is very low, so for much of it you have to walk bent over.
