Description

Morphology

The rock shelter has a ceiling blackened by soot, from so much fire-making there. In the eastern part there is a dry-stone loft. Some 20m further on we find a small shelter with a base of 3x5m and a height of 2m. On the western side, some 80m away, there are also small shelters for taking cover, but not as large as the one at l'Escala.

Progression

We will set off from the path that descends from the road along the forest track to the molí del Cavall, currently in ruins. We will cross the bridge where there was formerly a medieval one, which disappeared in a flood before the dam was built. We will continue along the path, but now in the opposite direction on the other slope of the Cardener river. On the left we will go up a steep climb and then descend. We will leave a path on the left that would take us to the riverbed. We will continue climbing to a sharp bend to the right. Here we will follow a small path on the left that at first descends but soon climbs steeply through the middle of the forest. The small path ends at the rasa itself, but on the other slope there is another abandoned small path that climbs the slope through the middle of the forest up to the very wall of the crag. Here we will find the rock shelter.

Other details

It is a small rock shelter where we find a dry-stone staircase to climb to the upper part.

History

Rock shelter inhabited in former times.
