Location

S of Can Castellet (Sentmenat). From the house of Can Castellet de Dalt, take a small path that descends toward the sot de Guanta along the torrent de Tres Pins. This path reaches a track that we will follow to the right, skirting southward the long ridge of the puig Rodó. We will find the pit on the right-hand side of the track, at a point where it widens more than usual, only five minutes after following it. Approximate coordinates, to be checked.

Description

Morphology

The entrance had to be cleared because two large fitted blocks were plugging it. It begins with an elongated fissure 0.25 metres wide, while in length it does not exceed one and a half metres. Soon, the length diminishes in the form of a funnel down to half a metre wide, from where a small 1.50 metre shaft begins, very earthy, and at the bottom of which follows a small ramp conduit, narrow and difficult to penetrate.

Excavated along an N20E joint, being a small water loss point on the puig Rodó ridge.

History

It seems evident that the cavity was opened when the track was opened, but we do not know when that was, possibly around the beginning of the 1980's. The only published data are those resulting from the exploration carried out by members of the SIS – CET on 7 July 1984.
