Description
Morphology
A narrow entrance with a small drop places us in a kind of inclined chamber 5x3 metres and 0.4 metres high, where the ceiling is formed by a large slab; on the S side light from outside can be seen but the passage is impassable. At the end of the slab, a drop of just over -2 metres offers two continuations. On the right towards the S we find a new drop of -3 metres, which places us in a sloping gallery; at the end this gallery rises again and ends; at the lowest point of the gallery a pit -2.23 metres deep opens, where blocks prevent continuation. Positioned again at the foot of the drop after the slab, on the left and in a N direction, the gallery descends until finding a pit of -3 metres; this can be descended by skirting the pit on the right, ascending the gallery to the top and descending on the other side to the base of the pit. At this point we find two continuations; following on the left one descends a steep slope between blocks, here on the right we find the access to a chamber of 3.7X1.67X2.95; we continue descending a new drop of 3.16 metres which places us in a wider space; at the foot of the base of the drop we find a new drop of 3.18 metres which places us in a triangular chamber of 4X10X3.59 metres where we find the point of maximum depth of the cavity. Positioned again at the point mentioned previously where the other branch is, we will follow the gallery on the right which rises along 9 metres; at the end we will climb a drop of +2.21 metres; at this point on the right and in a S direction, there is a crawlway that after a route of just over 5 metres leads us to the exit through the lower entrance. From the previous point, the gallery continues rising until reaching the foot of a dome where through a small hole the outside light can be seen; from here the gallery begins to descend and makes a turn to the left, soon becoming collapsed by blocks.
Speleothems
A sloping gallery with some curious formations.
Progression
The whole cavity can be explored without the need for equipment; a 5-metre sling may be of help for the less experienced.
History
Located by Juli Serrano (SIE-CEA) in July 2018; the same month a first superficial exploration is made and on 9 August it is fully explored and surveyed. The cavity has been catalogued with the initials M-14 to continue with the numbering that in its day (1995) the speleologists of the AAEET de Valls carried out in this same area.
