An 18-metre-deep pit in the canó de la Muga, in Gisclareny, located and explored in August 1991 by the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat.

Location

From the fonts del Bastareny, we will follow the track that runs below the farmhouses of the Monnell to the end. From this point, we will go up the torrent to the canó de la Muga; inside the canyon, in the place known as les Coves, we find the lower mouth of the cavity in the bed of the torrent.

Description

Morphology

A bell-shaped pit 14 metres deep connects at its base with a short gallery 7 metres long, on a steep slope and covered with sediments, which comes out to the exterior at the bed of the torrent de la Muga.

In this stretch of gallery we find a small hole that connects with a small pit parallel to the main pit, but this becomes impenetrable.

History

Located and explored in August 1991 by the SIES d'Esplugues de Llobregat.

In the Catàleg Espeleològic de Catalunya (vol. 3) of 2009 by Jordi de Valles, it appears cited as SC-73, when in reality it is SC-71.
