Location

On the N-260 road, from la Pobla de Segur to el Pont de Suert, just past kilometre 324 and about one kilometre before reaching the turn-off towards Sarroca de Bellera, a path (currently disused) branches off to the right, climbing up to the village of Erdo. About 200 metres before reaching Erdo, in the first cultivated fields we see on the left, some 40 metres from the path and in a small holm oak grove, is the entrance to the cavity, covered by shepherds to prevent livestock from falling in. Approximate coordinates, not very precise.

Morphology

An 8-metre-deep pit in Erdo (Sarroca de Bellera). Currently covered.

Progression

We do not know whether clearing it is feasible.

History

The only known data are those of the exploration carried out in 1982 by members of the SIEP of CE Poblet de Barcelona.

Not long ago, through an acquaintance from the area, contact was made with the only shepherd remaining in Erdo, and he was unaware of the existence of the cavity.

Joan Pallisé (August 2023) informs us that the biospeleologist Lluís Filbà also certified to him that the entrance was well covered.
