Characteristics

Location

From the BV-2411 road from Begues to Olesa de Bonesvalls, at about kilometre 15.7, the track leading to the avenc de la Ferla branches off and is closed. We take it from the start, cross the stream and follow this track for 100 metres until it turns left. At this point, on our right, a faint path branches off; we follow the path for about 150 metres and about 25 metres above it we find the entrance of the cavity.

Description

Morphology

An entrance opened by clearing, and after a short ramp where one must advance lying flat, it leads us to a 17-metre pit that is quite decorated with formations. The base is divided by a drop, and on one side opens the entrance of the second pit of 4 metres, which leads us to a new pit of 8 metres. At the base we find some timbers supporting a good volume of blocks resulting from a new clearing that allowed access to a small space where, among blocks and on a steep slope, a possible continuation could be seen. Currently (2022) this last space remains obstructed by falling blocks.

Progression

It should be noted that on several occasions and depending on the time of year, hypoxia has been detected from the base of the first pit. Falling stones should also be taken into account.

History

Pit discovered and cleared by Jordi Sòria (currently a member of GIE – CE Gràcia) and Xavi Gómez in November 2018. That month they managed to descend to the -22 level, where exploration could not continue due to hypoxia. It was not until the end of January 2019 that the next pit was descended. In March 2019 a new clearing was carried out at the base of the last pit, penetrating into a small chamber where, among an important quantity of blocks, a possible continuation was seen but which would require a great effort to be able to continue with the exploration. Subsequently blocks fell that prevent access to this small chamber. In the area other small cavities pending survey have been found.
