Location

Between the Turó de Vallbona and the avenc del Serralet Rodo. From the latter one must go 85 metres in direction 246º. From the summit of the Turó de Vallbona (Cocona la Sivina) one must go through the middle of the rascler 195 metres in direction 43º.

In this same sector other tiny rascler cavities have been mentioned, of which we have almost no data and which for the moment we have decided not to catalogue (Avenc dels Carsos; Avenc Petit; Avenc de la Cocona de la Sivina).

Description

Morphology

Through a small entrance one enters a pit 3 metres deep and its base, in the form of a short ramp and occupied by debris, communicates immediately with a new pit of 3 metres where the cavity ends.

Cavity resulting from a highly evolved form of the rascler.

History

The discovery and first exploration took place in March 1957 by members of the GES del CMB.

As Lluís Muntan tells us, in the year 2000 at the entrance there was a plaque that read: Avenc de la Sònia, without knowing who renamed it. Moreover, the entrance was obstructed by a large block.
