Characteristics

Location

Going from Olesa de Bonesvalls to Olivella along the track that passes by Can Grau, before reaching the mas of l'Esquerrà and the avenc de l'Esquerrà, another track branches off to the right which, climbing, heads in the direction of the Alt del Cuscó and parallel to the right slope of the head of the Fondo de Santa Susanna. After one kilometre and one hundred metres from the turn-off, on the left and above a bank, the mouth of the pit is found at the foot of a pine tree.

Description

Morphology

The mouth is circular, 0.6 metres in diameter. The base of the second shaft is not very wide and the ceiling rises vertically almost to the height of the mouth of the first shaft.

Speleothems

On the ledge between the two shafts there is a column and other formations. The second shaft is quite decorated, with walls full of calcite crystals. The final small chamber is also heavily decorated.

Progression

The mouth gives way to a downclimbable drop that leads to the head of a first small shaft of 3 metres. At this point there is a ledge that leads to a second shaft of 4 metres. From the base and in a W direction there is a narrow, short crawl that, sloping, leads to a small chamber that ends in an impenetrable passage.

History

Located by José Lagunas, father-in-law of Daniel Gascón, member of the SES del Ger (Sant Pere de Ribes). The mouth, impenetrable at that time, was later cleared by Daniel Gascón and Alex Serrano and, after several working days, was explored by themselves.
