Avenc de Mata-redona

From Sant Carles de la Ràpita you must take the track that goes up the barranc de Solito (path to Mata-redona) until reaching the Cocó del Jordi where we can leave the car. From here you can continue on foot along the path, in a N direction, until reaching the GR-92 and continue in the direction of la Foradada until reaching the old farmhouse of Mata-redona. From the back part of the ruined farmhouse, we go down towards the bed of the small ravine and go up the other slope. The path is quite worn, and it gives us a different view of the farmhouse, with the mola de la Foradada and the crestall del Montsià as a backdrop. At the top part of this rounded hill and on the left we find an area of large slabs, the saleres where the shepherds left salt for the flocks. We momentarily leave the path and go among the undergrowth to the right towards the centre of the hill. You must be very careful watching where you put your feet, because more or less in the middle, suddenly, the hole opens in the ground.
