Small pit with 9 m of vertical drop in the Serra de l'Obac, on the vertical fault, visited on 13 May 1928 by the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa.

Location

From the font de la Pola, follow the path to Coll de Tanca and continue to the Quarto de Reixa. Continue about 140 metres further along the path to the end of the cliff; at this point, on the left and heading SW, a flat, bare ridge begins and should be followed for a little over 400 metres. The path starts to descend among holm oaks and 50 metres further on, about 5 metres to the left of the path, is the entrance to the pit. Very approximate coordinates.

Description

Morphology

An entrance 15 by 4 metres gives access to an elongated chamber 13 by 3.5 metres, descending 3 metres of vertical drop on a gentle slope towards the N.

Other details

Formed on a vertical fault with a fault throw of 2 metres. Later, headward erosion by the torrent cut back the pit and materials from outside filled it.

History

The first visit of which we have record was made on 13 May 1928 by members of the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa.
