Small pit 11 m deep in front of les Aumidielles, in Benifallet.

Benifallet • Baix Ebre 14m 11m

Small pit 11 m deep in front of les Aumidielles, in Benifallet.

Characteristics

Location

Going up the barranc d'en Jordi and almost perpendicular to the coves de les Aumidielles, but on the opposite slope and about 5 or 6 metres above the path, the pit should be found.

It must be borne in mind that this situation is from 1969 and since then the landscape has changed a great deal and in those days the access road to the caves did not exist. The authors of the record mention that on the old path there was a white marker below the pit.

Description

Morphology

Through a mouth semi-obstructed by a block, a shaft 8 metres deep opens up. At its base a descending scree slope begins, about 6 metres long, at the end of which the cavity remains completely closed.

History

Discovered and explored by members of the GIE – CE de Gràcia at Easter 1966. They themselves explored and surveyed it again in December 1969.
