Characteristics

Location

Taking the road from Alcover to Capafonts (TV 7041), before reaching Mont-ral and a few metres before reaching Km. 10, a track comes off, asphalted at first, which crosses the Pla de les Perdius. We will always continue straight on, ignoring the junctions, until the track ends in a widening of the track in the middle of the woods, on the ridge of the serra d'en Clarà. From this point and in a N direction a path comes off that leads us to the avenc del Cabirol, after going down a short but steep slope, almost reaching the avenc del Cabirol which is right next to us on the left, we find on the right a cairn that indicates the start of a half-lost path that runs through the interior of a kind of wide natural trench, after about 90 metres we will see on the right, on a rocky wall, the cave-shaped entrance, inside, turning left, we will find on the right-hand side the narrow access to the rest of the cavity.

Description

Morphology

The entrance opens in the shape of a cave 4 metres high by 3 metres wide. After an upward step and a narrow section, we enter a gallery with the floor solidified by a thick flowstone and with current marks on the ceiling. This gallery descends to a small step that can be climbed down and leads us to another small chamber where a pit opens. At its base we find a room of regular dimensions, where at one end a narrow pit opens and at the other a ramp leads us to the final section of the cavity.

Total drop: 23.4 m. (+4/-19.4)

History

Discovered and explored by members of the AAEET de Valls on 10 April 1994.
