Description

Morphology

It is a small pit 13 m deep. Access is via a small, narrow shaft 6.5 metres that leads to the main joint that forms the cavity. From its base, towards the west, one can descend to a lower level where after a few metres it closes at the point of maximum depth (-12.5 m). In the opposite direction the gallery continues a few metres more until it becomes impenetrable. Back at the base of the entrance shaft and towards the E, the joint becomes impenetrable in depth, but without losing height one can reach a low-roofed gallery that after about 12 metres becomes impenetrable.

History

The first record of this cavity is from the exploration that took place on 17 April 1911 by members of the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa, led by Domènec Palet i Barba. They also explored the cave of the same name and called the whole cova-avenc Terrassa, thinking it could be the same cavity.

Many years later, in 1957, it was visited and surveyed by members of the GES – CMB. The most recent survey (1972) is that of the SIS – CE Terrassa.
