Description

Morphology

A spacious entrance about 4 m high gives way to a single gallery of just over 15 m in length that, a few metres after entering, narrows noticeably while maintaining a height of about 2 m. In the final stretch the height gradually decreases until reaching the floor, where it remains filled with sediments.

Progression

A recent clearing allowed advancing a couple of metres further until it became impenetrable.

History

The first news of the cavity was provided by members of the ERE – CEC who explored it in September 1966, but without giving almost any data.

In April 2024, members of the Espeleodijous group located, visited and completed the cataloguing work. During the search of the area they made various attempts to locate a small cave explored by members of the SIE-CEA in 2005 and catalogued as Cova Alta de Martinet and which had remained unpublished until 2009, when it was included in the Catàleg by Jordi de Valles.

In July 2024 those from the Espeleodijous returned without success, deciding to review the topography of the Cova Alta de Prullans and that once the plan was overlaid with that of the so-called Martinet they saw that it fully coincides. Everything suggests that an error in the location given in 2005 led to two cavities being catalogued when everything suggests that they are really the same one.
