The Serra de l'Argentera - Pradell is a unit of the Serralada Prelitoral with 27 recorded cavities: 17 caves and 10 pits. The total explored length is 805 m and the maximum depth is 61 m. The lithologies present are limestones (18 cavities), sandstones (8) and dolomites (1).
Among the cavities most notable for their length are the Avenc del Rabassó (155 m), the Avenc de Fontaubella (98 m), the Avenc de les Pedrisses (90 m), the Cova del Rector (88 m) and the Cova del Túnel de l'argentera (58 m). As for depth, the Avenc de Fontaubella reaches 61 m, followed by the Avenc de les Pedrisses (34 m), the Avenc del Rabassó (31 m), the Avenc del Pla Morant (24 m) and the Avenc del Xiprer (16 m).
These are limestone ranges between the Priorat and the Baix Camp, with a discreet Mediterranean karst.
