Coming from Les Avellanes, at the entrance to the village of Santa Linya, we will take the street on the left; after 200 metres the asphalt ends, we will follow the track for 500 metres and take the track on the left; after 800 metres a new turn-off, this time to the right; we will follow the track for 3.4 kilometres and arrive at the Balconet, an impressive viewpoint over the Camarasa reservoir. The whole way is signposted with signs for el Balconet. The cavity is right next to the viewpoint; the pile of stones around the entrance makes its location obvious. At present a wooden platform with an access hatch has been installed at the entrance to prevent rockfalls and to keep anyone from getting hurt.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The cavity begins with a 1.5-metre pit followed by a ramp that brings us to the head of a 30-metre pit. At the bottom of this first pit, they had to chip away suitably in a couple of places in order to get through (although this passage still turns out to be a bit selective); it continues through a series of pits and drops down to -112m. After this it connects with a series of parallel joints. In the latest explorations -161 metres of depth have been reached and progress is being made through a network of orthogonal joints with notable dissolution forms. The cavity is in the exploration phase, since various unknowns still remain to be checked.

Storia

Discovered by the GELL in January 2007 upon observing a damp patch on the ground that seemed to be transpiring. On 17-02-2008 they begin the digging and in two working days they leave the entrance accessible for entry. In 2010 the entrance is covered with a wooden platform, to prevent landslides that could block the entrance and to prevent anyone from falling, since the area is quite visited due to the nearby viewpoint. At present (2012) the exploration work in the cavity continues. The latest data place the cavity at -161 metres of depth and 631 metres of passage.

Actualment la porta d'accés és una plataforma metàl·lica que es manté tancada per una pedra. Per entrar a l'avenc només cal retirar la pedra i aixecar la tapa. Encara hi ha restes de l'antiga porta de fusta. Cal anar en compte perquè és una superfície inestable i hi ha claus oxidats que et pots clavar. Just al costat de la porta hi ha 1 spit que es pot utilitzar per començar a instal·lar. La resta de la cavitat, fins els -80m, està equipada amb spits i un parell de químics. A l'entrada hi ha força pedra solta i les parets són inestables, això fa que s'hagi d'anar amb molta cura per evitar tirar pedres als companys durant la progressió. El pas estret és una mica selectiu i això fa que la cavitat tingui un caire més esportiu que no pas estètic per gaudir de les formacions (ja que no n'hi ha gaires). A partir dels -80m, no vam localitzar més spits per poder seguir baixant tot i que, per l'estretor de la cavitat, sembla que es pot anar desgrimpant. Pensem que es podria posar una corda de suport per facilitar la progressió.
