Esquerda de l'Escaire

This cliff fracture is found at the collapse of a flat area below the summit of the Castell, a modest neighbour of the tossal del Castellàs (according to the Nomenclàtor; according to the ICC they alternate this toponym with that of lo Castellar).

Taking a track on the left that begins a few hundred metres after travelling along the track from Alòs de Balaguer to la Maçana, it climbs up to reach an olive grove. From here a waymarked path sets off following the same direction of the Segre valley, almost along the ridge, to below the tossal del Castellàs. From here it skirts along seeking the flat area that can be made out ahead of us. Once on the flat area, it will be necessary to look for the opposite slope and follow the cliff a little until locating the entrances of the cavity.

Coordinates without much reliability, but much more approximate than those given by the authors of the original record, which once verified place the cavity a few kilometres towards the west, specifically in the surroundings of Tartareu (les Avellanes i Santa Linya), giving rise to later cataloguings continuing to drag the error along.
