Small cavity in the Serra de Lleràs, near Santa Engràcia, with a large pit-shaped entrance and a small gallery where an artillery shell was found.

Caratteristiche

Località

A few metres west of the Roca de l'Espluga, above the small village of Santa Engràcia. The best access is via the track that climbs from Santa Engràcia to the collada de Castellet (Serra de Lleràs); on reaching 1258 m the track passes right along the crest of a ridge, and then a secondary track must be taken that turns back, always following the ridge, until it ends at a small hill; from there one must continue on foot, descending towards the N-NE until reaching the cavity.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A large pit-shaped entrance, occupied by brambles and some trees. On the E side of the pit there is a small gallery, with crawls located at the end of this gallery.

Progressione

On the day of its exploration, an unexploded artillery shell, probably from the civil war, was found in this gallery; as a precaution it was not possible to finish checking whether the crawls located at the end of this gallery presented any continuation. The Mossos d'Esquadra were notified, and they subsequently removed the shell.

Storia

Located on 20 January 2020 by Joan Carles Juderias and Josep Guarro, although due to the fact of finding an artillery shell inside, it is evident that the cavity was known to local people.
