Morfologia
The Balmí gran has, at a generous estimate, a length of 6 metres; some small blocks and rubble form the floor. Like a couple of nearby balmins, it is strongly conditioned by the stratification and its existence does not seem to be related to marine erosion, unlike the rest of the balmins, refilled with sand and pebbles rounded by the action of the waves. The one with the greatest length, the mitjà, is 8 metres.
Storia
Known since time immemorial, giving its name to the beach where they are found. It seems quite clear that balmí is a diminutive of balma.
Cited by Joan Virella (1978) in his collection of cavities of the Penedès and Garraf.
