Cova Nº3 les Balçs

Hanging on the cliff of the left hydrographic slope of the Barranc del Balç, next to the Cova nº 2 les Balçs and about 100m to the W of the village of Rivert.

To reach it we will set out from the Mare de Déu del Castell, a small hermitage located in the upper part of the village of Rivert. We will follow the path that climbs towards the W and in 60m we will reach a ridge. We will leave the path in the direction of the gentle gully located on the left and, now pathless, we will climb it until reaching the next ridge in about 120m. The ravine in front of us is the Barranc del Balç; we will continue descending towards the base of the ravine and follow it downstream until reaching a few metres before the drop formed by the Cova les Balçs. A small ledge hanging on the cliff of the left hydrographic slope allows us, in about 35m, to reach the mouth of the Cova nº 2 les Balçs; continuing along the ledge 16m further, we will reach the cavity.
