Caratteristiche

Località

From les Arenes (the road from Castellar del Vallès to Sant Llorenç Savall) a track sets off following the Sot de Matalonga until reaching a fork to the right that climbs beside the Canal de la Furriola. Almost at the top of the ridge a path to the right approaches the turó de Furriola. Beside the path and shortly after entering the Obaga de la Casa Nova slope is the pit.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The entrance, funnel-shaped, measures 3 x 1.5 metres and gives access to a 6.5 metre shaft that opens out at the start of a descending chamber 9 metres long, 2 metres wide and about 4 metres high.

Concrezioni

The walls of this chamber are largely covered by stalagmitic flowstone.

Idrologia

At the lower part a water loss can be seen.

Storia

This small pit is already mentioned in the map that in 1935 accompanied the Guia monogràfica de Sant Llorenç del Munt, published by the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa. We do not know when and who made the first exploration.
