Location

To the NW of Vilada, at the Canal Closa. Very close to the Cova i Avenc del Calvari (see the access for that one).

Description

Morphology

It is a 0.80 metre wide trench, which at 3 metres enters a cave, where the gallery turns slightly to the right. At this point there is a pit 3 metres deep. Once this P-3 is descended, one advances along a corridor, 0.50 metres wide and up to 5 metres high, for some 5 metres. At this point the width narrows to 0.40 metres and the height to 1.30. On the right an impenetrable fissure is observed that continues downwards. Crawling, one can continue 3.50 metres more until the gallery closes.

Once the P-3 is descended, one advances along a corridor. Crawling, one can continue 3.50 metres more until the gallery closes.

History

In Vilada, this whole series of cavities at the Canal Closa is called “Els Forats”, with no further names.

In 2013, F. Cardona (ECG), J. Cuenca and X. Samarra (GEB) carried out a survey of the area and were able to locate the Cova i avenc del Calvari and this other hole.

In September and October 2013, members of the GE Badalona returned to the area and carried out the cataloguing work of the Cova del Calvari and of two modest and previously unrecorded nearby cavities.
