Location

Going along the N-340 from Amposta in the direction of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, just past the “Granges d'Alonso” (between km 1076 and 1077), and skirting these on their South side, go up the track/path that gives access to the Pedrera de l’Antic (also known as the “Gravera d'Amposta”). This quarry consists of two adjacent sectors; the cavity is in the sector that lies furthest South, just where the wall of the abandoned quarry begins.

Description

Morphology

Small cavity formed by two small chambers. The first chamber forms a passage 1.8 m long and has a maximum height of 2.4 m. At the back of it there is a narrow, descending passage that leads to a shorter small chamber where one or two people lying down barely fit. This second chamber is cut by a fairly deep joint but of insufficient width to be able to pass through it.

The cavity has quite a few formations.

At the back of the first chamber there is a narrow, descending passage that leads to the second small chamber.

History

Location and first incursion at the end of June 2020 by members of the CE Dinàmics (la Ràpita). At the end of September 2020 they continue with the digging works and consider the exploration finished.
