Location

On the track that leads from Castellet towards Espluga de Serra, there is a series of bends from which the entrance can be seen; it lies to the left of the Espluga Llorna and at roughly the same elevation, but two ravines further N; specifically, it is in a 'Y'-shaped ravine, with the cave being at the start of the left-hand branch as we look at it, about 50 metres of drop from the point where the two branches meet and on the hydrographic right. On starting the ascent, the entrance ceases to be visible because of a rock ledge that hides it.

Description

Morphology

It is a single zigzagging gallery. At the final part the gallery ascends gently.

Hydrology

In the middle part there is usually a small level of water that occupies the whole gallery.

History

Very well known in the area since time immemorial. The first known survey was made by the SIE del CEA on 2 April 1972.
