Tiny little cave at coll d'Ordal (Vallirana), opened up by the works on the N-340 road.

Characteristics

Location

It is located on the new section of the N-340 road, a few metres before kilometre 1229 in the direction of Vallirana. You must access the Lledoner urbanisation and go to the end of carrer Riu Garona, where there is a weather station right next to the N-340 road. You must follow along this side of the road ditch in the direction of coll d'Ordal for 168 metres, where we will find the small mouth of the coveta nº 1 de la Cuneta; we will continue onwards 30 metres more and there we will find the mouth of the coveta nº 2; from this point we will continue onwards 20 metres more, where we will find the meagre mouth of the coveta nº 3.

Description

Morphology

Cavity opened by the construction of the road. The mouth is 0,78X0,44 metres and places us in a small chamber of exiguous dimensions. There are two openings separated by a column that lead to a drop of 1,80 metres; this deposits us in a gallery that bifurcates, both branches ending 2 metres further on. These galleries have a width of some 30 centimetres, and they gradually close up until they end. The depth is 4,5 metres with a route of 10 metres.

History

Cavity opened during the construction works of the new variant of the N-340 road as it passes through coll de l'Ordal; these works took place between the end of the last century and the beginning of the XXI. The first exploration of which there are references was carried out in 2009 by the GE Badalona.
