Tiny little cave at coll d'Ordal (Vallirana), opened up by the works on the N-340 road.

Characteristics

Location

It is located on the new section of the N-340 road, a few metres before kilometre 1229 in the direction of Vallirana. You must access the Lledoner urbanisation and go to the end of carrer Riu Garona, where there is a weather station right next to the N-340 road. You must follow along this side of the road ditch in the direction of coll d'Ordal for 168 metres, where we will find the small entrance of the coveta nº 1 de la Cuneta; we will continue onwards 30 metres more and there we will find the entrance of the coveta nº 2.

Description

Morphology

Cavity opened by the construction of the road. The entrance is 1.90X0.60 metres and is partially covered with blocks; it gives way to a small chamber of 1.60X1.50 metres with a small concavity one metre to the left. The floor is covered by blocks, but we find two small pits among the blocks, one of 2.50 metres and the other of 0.90 metres, both quite narrow. Currently the route is 4.5 metres and the drop is 2.5 metres.

Progression

It could be feasible to continue by means of a major dig.

History

Cavity opened during the construction works of the new bypass of the N-340 road as it passes through coll de l'Ordal; these works took place between the end of the last century and the beginning of the 21st. The first exploration of which there are references was carried out in 2009 by the GE Badalona.
