Two small caves above the font de les Dous, in Torrelles de Foix, formed by galleries of 14 and 8 metres.

Characteristics

Location

From Torrelles de Foix one must take the BV-2122 road towards Pontons. About 4 kilometres from Torrelles, on the left, lies the les Dous area. Here a track begins that climbs towards the Clapí Vell (704 m), but at the fourth bend encountered from les Dous a waymarked path begins that in a few metres will lead to the two small caves, separated by very few metres from one another.

Not to be confused with the Cova del Teixó or de les Aranyes, located near l'Albareda and within the same municipality of Torrelles de Foix.

Description

Morphology

These are two small caves formed by respective galleries of 14 (Cova I) and 8 metres (Cova II).

History

Cited by J. Virella (1978) in his list of penedesenc cavities, but without providing any reference. The only data we know are those given by members of SIRE – UEC Sants who visited them in March 1981.
