Characteristics

Location

By the road that leads from Vidrà towards Sant Privat d'en Bas, once past the Collada de Collfred, we find on the right the access track to the hamlet of Collfred; the vehicle must be left on the road since the track is private. We will walk along the track towards the houses of Collfred, leaving them on the right, and follow the track that crosses the torrent de Santa Magdalena or riu de Collfred; the main track must be followed for about 230 metres to the next torrent. A few metres further on, when the slope ends, we will begin to climb up the right-hand side; at 50 metres we will find the depression formed by the cova petita de Collfred, and continuing a few metres to the right we will find the two entrances of the cova Travessada de Collfred.

Morphology

The cavity has a length of 16 metres. Entering through entrance A, located further to the SW, one descends a ramp that leads to a chamber with a low ceiling, less than one metre. On the other side of the chamber, an ascending gallery leads us to entrance B, located further to the NW. Halfway along this ascending gallery, on the right we find a short gallery that ends at the head of a narrow shaft -4 metres deep.
