A 37-metre-long cave in Margalef (Montsant), a narrow, winding fissure with a height of about 15 metres.

Characteristics

Location

The cave is located in Margalef (Montsant). From the ermita de la Foia a track sets off towards the collet del Ros, which is closed; at the height of the padlock we will continue to the left along a path that climbs until it links up again with the track. On reaching the collet del Ros we will continue to the left along a path that will take us to the mas Serrador (it is not a mas, but rather a built shelter); at this point we will continue to the right in an E direction, along a path where we will soon find a fairly steep rocky rise, where if the ground is wet it is advisable to place a piece of rope; we will soon leave the path and turn off to the right along a rather faint trail, which follows an old cultivation terrace. The trail ends a few metres ahead in front of a dense patch of vegetation; among it there is a passage in the direction of the wall that gives us access to the cova de Bestral. We will pass through the interior of this cave, since it is walled, and come out on the other side of the wall; we will follow the wall of the cliff towards the W for 23 metres, where we will find the entrance to the cova de Bestral nº 2.
