Characteristics

Location

It is located below the Mas dels Arcs, on a firebreak in the Comellar del Mas d'en Garrot, in the wooded area near the Pont del Diable, close to the Barri de San Salvador, in the municipality of Tarragona.

From Tarragona, at the roundabout at the entrance to the Barri de Sant Salvador, we take the first exit heading east. On the right, going down along Avinguda Sant Salvador into the Barri de Sant Ramon, we reach the end, where it joins Carrer del Barranc del Comellar; here we park.

We cross the street heading east looking for a bridge by which we cross into the wooded area. We follow the track and a sewer painted yellow. The track climbs along the firebreak; going up along the firebreak track, about 100 m to the right, at the base of the wall, is the small cave entrance.

Description

Morphology

A small entrance of 0.40x0.35 m gives way to a sloping little chamber of 0.50x4 m. A cavity with no formations, it has a length of 13 metres.

Progression

Going down through a narrow passage between blocks, to the right, a two-metre ramp; then, at its base on the left, a new narrow passage descending through a fissure leaves us in a small chamber full of clay, reaching its maximum depth of -5 m.

History

A cavity that does not appear documented in any catalogue. Known to Juan Luis Benitez since childhood from his walks in the wooded areas of the zone.
