Location

Following the path that leads from the Masieta parking area towards the Mont-rebei gorge, on reaching the roca de Sant Jaume we find the small shelter on the left-hand wall of the path, shortly before reaching the metal bridge that crosses the barranc Fondo, at the Canelles reservoir.

The shelter is in the reservoir's flood zone; when it is full, this path cannot be passed.

Morphology

Small shelter almost 6 metres wide by 3.92 metres deep and 4 metres high.

Other details

Currently (2017), both on the ICC map and in the informative leaflets with a plan given out at the Masieta information centre, cova del Mut is placed at the spot where cova de les Roques Peronyes is actually located. We do not understand what this error is due to, since in the leaflets published at the time by the fundació Territori i Paisatge de Caixa de Catalunya, the cave was correctly located.
